VAT - Cash Basis

Question asked by Julie Woodhouse 6 years ago

I am working on a Client who is on the Cash Basis for VAT.

Obviously, the VAT reflected on the VAT return is showing VAT from monies received and paid only.

Is there a report that I can obtain which indicates what VAT is not included in the return, for example, unpaid debtors and creditors? At the moment, we can only work this out from going through each invoice outstanding on the debtors and creditors at a given time which is becoming time consuming.

We need to establish what VAT has not been included in the VAT return from the sales and purchases to balance our working papers.

The Client also deducts CIS from his sales invoices but not everything is subject to CIS.

Hi Julie,

The closest report we have to this is the VAT excluded report found on the VAT return menu -

There are a couple of extra features which would help improve this report such as showing the VAT rate (as well as the VAT amount).

Also specifically for VAT cash accounting, if an invoice has been part paid and included on a VAT return, the excluded report needs to show the remaining VAT amount to be included on future returns.

These two tasks are currently in the queue to be updated by our technical team, however, is there anything else you would like this report to show?
