Used the wrong debit card

Question asked by Pete 6 years ago

I bought some books that were personal items but mistakenly used my company debit card. Should I just pay the amount from my personal bank account to the company, and record in Clearbooks as cost of sales for the purchase and invoice myself and record it as SALES?

Or is there a better way to account for this?

Thanks

Hi Pete - when you explain the payment just put it to your director's loan account. So, if you have that set up in Bank accounts, use the transfer tab to transfer the sum from bank to DLA.

If you need to repay it to the company, pay the money in and treat that too as a transfer from the DLA.
