VAT on Dashboard only shows cash owed?

I am not sure I follow. The VAT owing figure is based on all VAT that is owed. Have you recently changed VAT scheme?

No, we have been cash accounting for over 10 years. Perhaps it's a matter of wording, but to me "all VAT that is owed" includes the VAT that has been paid/received (i.e. the cash side) plus those VAT items that have been entered on the system but haven't yet been paid (either by a customer or ourselves). We think that ClearBooks used to show this total VAT owed figure, rather than just the cash amount currently due in the quarter that the Dashboard now is displaying. To put it bluntly as a small business, the equation above lets us now if we have enough cash to pay a dividend. If the VAT owed figure is not reflecting ALL the VAT due, then it is conceivable that a small business could pay a cash dividend and then find that they don't have enough money to pay their VAT bill. Not a happy situation!

I think I understand. You mean all the VAT that is due from both a perspective of what has been paid for and what is likely to be paid in the near future on the basis that you can be prepared for VAT you are aware you are going to be liable for in the near future. Is that correct? Unfortunately, The dashboard will only show the VAT from paid invoices when you are on the cash accounting scheme.

I'm afraid this is very misleading and we are fairly sure that the Dashboard definitely has changed within the last couple of months. As I asked earlier, is there any way to be able to see the total figure on the Dashboard? Is it possible to add specific account codes to track them?
