Unallocated payments

Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to help. We have some very old historical unallocated payments. Our accountant has advised that these be placed against the P & L account to zero the accounts. I have no idea how to do this and our accountant isn't familiar with Clearbooks. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks Michelle
