submitting via MTD

I have just completed our first return using clearbooks for period up to 30/6/19. The figures are all fine - but I keep getting a message telling me the return could not be submitted and check my vat number. My vat number is correct and I've signed up to send via clearbooks... this is proving as annoying as i thought it would be . Can you help? Also customer service number says its incorrect - so the support is really poor that you provide.
