eBay Fees for managed payments v amount I need to invoice the buyer..

Question asked by Andy Morris 1 year ago

Hi There,

If I sell something on eBay, I have a customer that that I need to invoice for the full amount e.g. £10.00 as the buyer had paid £10.00. With the eBay managed Payments, I only get the amount in the account less the eBay fees into the actual bank account. I'm struggling to work out how I create an invoice for the full amount to the customer, but then deduct the fees so they match up with what ebay has actually paid into the account.

If anyone has experience of this and can shed an light on how I should be managing this from the Clearbooks/Accounting perspective that'd be super..

Many thanks, Andy.

Hi Andy,

Apologies for the delay!

In this case, you can either add a negative line on the invoice for the fee amount.

Alternatively, when explaining the transaction on the bank statement, in this example, you will change the amount field to a negative fee amount and explain this with Ebay as the supplier.

Once completed, this should increase the transaction to £10, where you can allocate in full to the invoice.
