How could I handle a refundable deposit?

i use clearbooks to handle rental of the spaces in our village hall - after a couple of "incidents", we have decided to charge a refundable deposit for events/parties...

at the moment, we just raise an invoice for the rental, after the event...

Any suggestions on how to handle a refundable deposit? has anyone done this in an elegant way?

Hi Ian,

In this case, you can raise the rental invoice to the customer specifying the requirement of a deposit. You can then allocate the deposit to the invoice and process a refund when required.
