Income and expenses - submission 1

Question asked by Ronald Barnatt 5 months ago

Im still trying to submit my Q1 MTD for income tax. But Im still receiving an error message:

file

Ive been trying to submit this several times and I have noticed that the error message has changed as previously it stated that my NI number was wrong/missing.

Ive been trying to submit my Q1 return for the last week or more and its getting frustrating that Im unable to do so and move on. I appreciate this is the trial phase but can this not be fixed quickly? Can someone advise if Ive done something wrong and what I would need to do to fix it. However my wifes' Q1 return is identical and submitted with no problems.

Hi Ron,

As per our other thread, the issue is with HMRC and has already been escalated with them. They are still investigating the issue and as soon as they have a resolution, I will update you.

Tommy

Thanks Tommy, much appreciated. Although the message has changed so Im not sure if this is a new/different issue or the same one as previous?

KR Ron.

Hi Ron,

We have updated the error message to avoid confusion. If users have got to the point of making a submission then the NI number is not the issue. Also, you can contact the dedicated MTD phone line if you wish to chase HMRC directly, you can find this by clicking the ? icon at the top right.

Hi Ron,

HMRC have provided an update on this. They can see that you had opted for calendar quarters and then reverted back to standard quarters a few minutes later. HMRC's systems have not updated back to standard quarters properly. They are going to fix this and let us know when it has been done.

Tommy

Hi Ron,

Apologies, it appears HMRC had resolved the issue, but unfortunately did not update us. We can see you have now successfully submitted Q1.
