How do I change a code / explanation?

I have marked some bank statement items as "Personsal Other Income". These then show on my dashboard. How do I change this to just "Personal" so it doesn't show?

Thanks for the explanation. I am not sure I understand everything yet, but maybe I don't need to. I feel a bit guilty that I might have hijacked the OP's thread, so I will stop there. It did mean I found out how to get at the list of explained items when everything has been explained, as I hadn't been able to do that before.
Hi Kevin,
The edit you made was for the payment and not for the actual REC transaction. The contact of the payment and REC should almost always match. It is possible to edit the payment as there are other parts of the system i.e. for invoices which require this functionality. For REC transactions, you must void and recreate if you'd like to show a different contact.
And for the statement, you are in the bank statement which includes all transactions posted to the bank. For the imported bank statement, you must head to Dashboard > Bank accounts > All unexplained statements > All. This will show you the bank explain screen where you had initially explained the transactions.

It did allow me to change the contact and the customer. My concern is how can they be different? I guess I don't understand something here. Also, why did my statement not have a REC number on it as you described initially? Was I in the wrong place. I'm trying to make sure I am doing this right.
Hi Kevin,
In this case, it sounds like you want to edit the contact of an REC which is not possible. Instead, you must click the amount, then click the REC number under the Linked Income record, void the REC. Once voided, you will need to re-explain the transaction to the correct contact.
Tommy
Thanks for responding. In my case, I don't know if I am in the right place, but when I open the statement, there is no REC number (see attached image). However, I decided to click on the only clickable item, the amount, and that took me to a window for that transaction where there is an edit button. This allowed me to change the "Contact". However, the linked income record still shows the Customer as what it previously was. I find accounting software very non-intuitive, despite having worked in a bank analysing customer accounts, so maybe I am missing something, but shouldn't those two be the same? In my case, I end up with one of my customers as the contact, which in this case is the organisation who paid me for some work, and "personal transactions" as the customer. What am I doing wrong?

Hi both,
In this case, you must head into the imported statement, identify the transaction, click into the REC prefixed transaction, click Edit, amend the account code to Personal Transactions.

I have a similar situation. Commenting to see if it prompts an answer.
