Payments to HMRC

Question asked by Mark Jackson 1 week ago

Hi,

How do I categorise payments to HMRC using Clearbooks?

I am using Clearbooks for the first time to comply with Making Tax Digital requirements for my rental property

Not sure how it all fits together yet. Seems I'm putting a lot of work in to allow HMRC access to my soul

Hi all,

And thank you Thomas, that is indeed correct.

To add to that, at the end of the tax year, your MTD Tax Return account will show your total PAYE income and any tax already paid. HMRC automatically populates this information from the monthly RTI submissions sent during the year.

The purpose of the MTD Tax Return at year-end is to:

  1. Pull in your final profit figures from your self-employment and property businesses.
  2. Review the pre-filled salary and tax data from your employment.
  3. Calculate if any additional personal tax is due across all your income sources combined

You set up an account under the account type "Drawings", as you do for personal extractions from the account.

Yes I feel the same. I’m not sure we can be doing it right as it wants more detailed info than necessary
