Hi Kieran,

As a sole trader, your personal pension contributions are handled differently as they are not your standard business expenses. In this case, you must report this at the year end by creating a MTD Tax Return account. To do so, you must hover over your business name at the top right > Add MTD Tax Return.

Once inside the MTD Tax Return account, navigate to the section for tax reliefs or adjustments. There is a dedicated area for personal pension contributions where you can enter the total amount paid during the tax year.

Hi Tommy,

Thank you for this response. I will follow your steps and include pension contributions at the years end.
