How can I 're-explain' a transaction for March 2026, now that Clearbooks has changed over to the new financial year

Question asked by Bev Cooper 7 days ago

Hi There,

I realised I made an error explaining a transaction from 30/03/26, so I need to edit it. However Clearbooks has now moved on to the new financial year 2026-2027 and is only showing the bank transactions from April 1st 2026 onwards.

How do I find the transaction from 30/03/26, so that I can correct it?

I feel like this is going to have a very obvious answer and I will kick myself when you tell me!

Many Thanks

Bev

Nice work Bev. Looks like you have figured out what you needed to do. In answer to your original question, if you click the bank feed balance from your dashboard, or the bank feed balance on the bank accounts list, you can use the "Previous" and "Next" buttons to navigate through different months of original bank feed transactions. If anything needs to be re-explained, just hit the undo icon and make any corrections required.

After more clicking around, I have answered my own question!

Click on the Bank Accounts > heading on the dashboard.

Click on the blue number under the 'Clearbooks' heading.

Then under 'Choose a month' at the top of the screen click on the drop down and select the month of the transaction you are looking to change.

Then click on the 'FIND' bottom below that field.

Further to my own reply above, am adding a further note about how to add statement transactions if you have inadvertently deleted something from a downloaded bank feed!

From the dashboard click on Bank Accounts >

Click on the bank account line for the relevant feed (you may have more than one), this displays options on the line below.

Select ‘Re-create statement’

At the bottom of the Recreate bank statement screen, fill in the date, description and amount to match your missing transaction from you bank statement feed.

Return to the dashboard - you should now see the transaction waiting to be explained.

Hopefully this helps some other people and saves some head scratching!!
