Finalising Tax Return

Question asked by Graham Neale Robinson 4 weeks ago

I am trying to lodge my 2025 to 2026 tax return, all the figures are correct in clear books and I have submitted all quarters as needed, but when I press the finalise tax return button it just shows zeros in all fields, is there something I am doing wrong or is it a system bug ?

Thanks Graham

Hi Graham.

There was an unexpected response from HMRC when the pre-finalised tax calculation was returned with error messages that meant the tax return couldn't be finalised, resulting in zero amounts displayed. This was resolved yesterday afternoon. Your tax return dashboard will now show your correct amounts and when you click on the tax calculation title or amount, you will see the error messages from HMRC that are blocking the finalisation.

To add your period of account, click on your self employment income total from the tax return dashboard and enter the period at the bottom of the income source disclosures page. You will then be able to finalise the return, assuming HMRC return no further errors.

Good Morning

I am also getting the following error

Periods of Account information is required for all Self Employments. Please submit.

I have submitted my 4 quarterly returns for 2025 - 2026 so not sure what else I need to do.

Some gidence would be appreciated.
