invoice with both exempt vat and 20% vat items- can I justify as 1 transaction

Question asked by Adam Hill 4 weeks ago

I frequently invoice bills with both a VAT exempt item and a 20% vatable item on them as 1 transaction.

when justifying this income in the bank account on clearbooks is there a simple way of splitting this bill in the bank breakdown as 1 transaction with the 2 varying vat rates. at the moment I am having to enter each part of the bill separately which confuses things and takes longer. I used to be able to do this on a previous accounting software programme.

Hi Adam,

Yes, when explaining the transaction, you can edit the amount field for the transaction that reflects VAT exempt, then explain the remaining amount for the 20% item.
