Conversion/Migration of Data from QuickBooks

Question asked by Tom Trainer 11 years ago

Is it possible to migrate historic transactions from QuickBooks to ClearBooks when setting up a new client? If not, will ClearBooks do this for a fee? Lack of access to comparative figures and old transactions is a major put-off for clients when you are trying to persuade them to convert to CB.

When looking into this, I tried to look at https://secure.clearbooks.co.uk/common/support/guides/true?guide=http://www.clearbooks.co.uk/support/guides/getting-started-2/importing-accounting-data/&help=28945 but it brought up a 404 error.

Hi Tom,

If these transactions can be exported into a csv format, they can be imported in Clear Books. If you navigate to Tools > Import you can view the various features that can be imported.

Alternatively, we do offer a custom accelerated development service which allows current customers to fast-track ideas to our developers allowing you to commission a feature for any Clear Books plc product. For more details please click on the link below:

Please let me know how you wish to proceed.

Kind regards,

Thanks Berhan. So if I were moving a client to CB, I could put the last two years transactions on there?

Hi Tom,

As long as you have the data in csv format you will be able to import as far back as you would like. Could you confirm the type of transactions you would like to import?

Kind regards,

Berhan

Payments, receipts, sales and purchase invoices, settlement of sales and purchase invoices, purchase and disposal of fixed assets, depreciation etc.

Hi Tom,

Of the things listed, unallocated payments and receipts can't be imported currently, as well as depreciation. As a result, it may be best to submit a request for custom accelerated development so that one of our developers can complete the imports for you:
