First submission of VAT return from CB to HMRC - advice on buttons to click please!

At the end of July I will complete the first qtr on CB that will be used to submit a VAT return.

I have looked at the VAT report, tested it and am happy that it will include the right data.

I have appointed CB as my agent though the Government Gateway, so we are all ready to go.

What I am not sure about is what to do after creating the VAT return on CB. Is there a button that says 'Click to submit to HMRC' or similar? I have not felt able to check this in case I press the wrong one or press something before the submission is ready)

I can't find a guide on this final step of sending the return to HMRC. The guide called " Submit your VAT / EC Sales return online to HMRC " doesn't actually tell you how to submit the return, only how to set up the HMRC / CB link correctly.

Hi Graeme,

Once you are happy with the information in your VAT return click the 'confirm' button. This won't submit it, but just confirms that the info is accurate. You should then see an option to 'Click to submit to HMRC'. However, I just thought I'd let you know that I had a look at your Toggle Features/Permissions and you didn't have 'Online VAT Submission' selected. I have now activated this for you so that when you 'confirm' the report you will have the option to digitally submit to HMRC.
