Default summary text on invoices?

Is there any way of setting up a default summary text to be shown on all invoices?

There is no set field for summary text. What you could do is go to the labels tab in the theme and change the name of one of the boxes you are not using for that theme to Summary Text or simply no name and then add the details in that way. It's a bespoke way of labelling.

Hi Kathryn,

Yes there is a way to do this. You can set up a theme to use for all your invoices by going to Settings > Invoice Themes > Create. Here you can include all the details you would like to display on your invoice, including payment advice and summary text. You can then set it as default in the main Invoice Themes > All page. This will apply that theme, together with the summary text to all your invoices.

Thank you. We already have created our own invoices and have a set payment advice and invoice payment text which shows on all invoices but cannot see where to enter the summary text. We wanted to put a general note under the address on the invoices. Can you provide further information?

To be able to input a standard text into summary would be advantageous as currently I spend about 3 hours a week copy and pasting. Clear books can you make this happen? That is a day per month copy and pasting!

Also standard text option for payment summary and estimates would be fantastic.

Thank you for that idea. You can currently have a certain amount of standardised text which will appear on all invoices using a particular theme. If you go to Settings > Invoice Themes > Create you will see that there are boxes for Payment Advice and Invoice Payment Text. However Payment Summary is not something that can be used in this way at the moment, though it does sound like a great idea.
