Payroll Transition

Question asked by Helen Passfield 11 years ago

When transitioning to clearbooks payroll, do you enter the YTD info for each employee as if they were a new employee and using the information from a P45. I can see any other screen in which to enter the start data?

Thanks so much and for such a quick reply - and on a Sunday! I have the payslips but believe that the previous provider must have made an error on the tax codes, all are at 1000L which I though was odd to start with, so high and all the same.

It certainly sounds like it. Unless you've already got a record of historic tax codes, you'll probably need to get your hands on the payslips i'd have thought.

Another reason why a YTD feature is needed.

Thanks for this Kevin, really helpful. As my client has only a few employees on monthly salaries I will rebuild, not ideal but had been coming to that conclusion after playing about with the function.

I do have one other question. Doing some testing I have matched up previously calculated numbers and gross, net, employees NI, employers NI all fine, but the tax is not calculating. Does this mean the tax codes are incorrect? Any ideas? Many thanks
