Hiding discount percentages

Question asked by Gideon Foster 10 years ago

Hi,

Just wondering if there is a way to apply discounts to invoices in such a way that the customer won't see it? Essentially I would like to modify the Sales Item Unit price per customer/invoice without the customer seeing the original price.

Kind Regards, Gideon

Not assigned on a customer basis no although I can see it being a worthwhile idea.

There is a discount facility if you head to Settings > Toggle > Inv & Exp > Discounts but the % will still have to be applied manually on an invoice by invoice basis.

I think if you did that it wouldn't truly be a discount, merely an amended sales price which of course you'd have to enter manually.

Thanks for the reply.

Then I guess I'm looking for a way to amend sales prices by a percentage in a fast manor. Would be ideal if default sale price reduction percentage rates could be assigned to each customer. From your reply I guess you haven't come across this functionality before?

Hi Gideon & Kevin,

Kevin is right, it would have to be displayed to be considered a discount. Furthermore, you can either Kevin's method above or enter it on an invoice as a negative line item and have it taken from the overall cost. In both these cases you will be able to see the original and discounted prices.
