How Do I Add An SEIS Loan By A Private Investor

Question asked by Dominic Devine 11 years ago

Hi,

I just started using Clearbooks and I'm in the trial phase.

I'm looking at using Clearbooks for an SEIS-funded SPV.

But I cannot figure out how to add private investor funds and have it show up as a loan rather than taxable income.

How is this done?

Thank you, Dom

Hello Dom,

The best way is probably to show the amount as share capital.

You will be able to make an account code named Private Investors Funds and it will show up in the Balance Sheet account type.

You will need to make a journal to show this monetary amount based on the date it was received by a journal. This will let you debit bank and credit Private Investors Funds.

Doing this will let you show the amount as a private funds while not showing it as trading income.

Vanish.
