Payroll: Flag to say there's an outstanding attachment order

It would be great if one day payroll could handle attachment orders properly (see https://secure.clearbooks.co.uk/community/ideas/7321/open-payroll-attachment-of-earnings-and-other-deductions) but in the interim as a quick fix it would be really handy if you could tick a box within the employee details section to say theres an order present. Then, once you go to process the payroll each period, a small warning msg could pop-up as a reminder.

I've got a single employer with 3 different employees who have orders now, the calculations are easy but actually remembering to do them is a right pain!

Hi Kevin,

That does sound interesting. You can of course specify on the payroll any additional payments/deductions, but these have to added each time (except maternity/paternity which are dated). Are you thinking of setting these up with dates so that they are automatically part of the payroll each time?

Most payroll software can handle deductions automatically if i'm being honest, it's currently one of the downsides to what CB have on offer.

Until that's available though which i'm guessing won't be anytime soon, a quick pop-up notification to remind us that X employee has some kind of deduction to be made would be really handy. It would still mean us doing the calculations manually and keeping track of the running balance manually too but it would be a start at least.

Ah, yes, I see what you mean, Kevin. A notification just to ensure things are all in the right place at the right time does make sense.
