Better Invoice Template Creation

The template creation tools are currently very restrictive. Would it be possible to upgrade them to allow better customisation of templates?

Specifically, whilst we have access to upload css3 styles we have no real control of the content placement. A simple change allowing the use of custom (but limited) html layout with content snippet tags, as well as css would allow for a literally infinite range of templates.

I can work around the current limitations of just using css, to re-create our currently used invoice style, but it is a pretty messy way of doing things.

I agree. I think invoice formatting and lack of professional-looking, easily-customisable templates is definitely ClearBooks' weak spot when compared to rival systems. Ideally I don't want to have to mess about with coding and Clearbooks should provide good templates out of the box. For those who want more control the code should be more customisable than it is.

Is there anything in the pipeline, Clearbooks?

Thank you for your suggestion, it's a very interesting idea. With forum suggestions, the more votes and comments your idea receives the more likely it is to be implemented sooner.

I WANT TO LEAVE CLEARBOOKS AS I AM SOOOOOOOOO UNSATISFIED WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO PRODUCE A DECENT QUOTE. THIS WAS MY MAIN OBJECTIVE WHEN I JOINED AND I STILL CANT ENJOY THE SYSTEM AS I SHOULD. IT IS DESPERATELY FRUSTRATING.........
