Announcement: Update to bank holidays for the Queen's funeral on HR

Everyone at Clear Books is deeply saddened by the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family, our customers and partners, and everyone across the country affected by her passing.

In line with government guidelines to account for the bank holiday on 19 September 2022, we are performing the following updates to HR as of the 13/09/2022:

1. We are adding the new bank holiday for all employees on all accounts where bank holidays are enabled for 2022.

2. For employees set up with a custom holiday entitlement (as opposed to automatic calculation), we will also increase the holiday entitlement by 1 day for those employees.

To view whether an employee has a custom holiday entitlement set, head to Employees > List and click on the name of the employee. You will then be taken to the employee dashboard.

Next click on the ‘Edit holiday entitlement’ button, shown in the ‘Holidays’ widget on the employee dashboard. The ‘Holiday entitlement’ field will show a value if a custom holiday entitlement has been set (as shown in the example below).

For any employees who have booked off the 19th in advance of these changes, to add the bank holiday:

• Delete the existing leave
• Edit the employee
• Increase the holiday entitlement by 1 if a custom holiday entitlement has been set
• Save the employee

We encourage you to review the holiday entitlement for your employees, to ensure it reflects your intention with the changes to the bank holidays.
