VAT Return - Submission error

Can anyone help.. trying to submit a VAT return and getting an error

The VAT return could not be submitted to HMRC. Have you enabled Clear Books as your agent? Is your VAT number correct?

I have checked the VAT number and have never had a problem submitting via Clear Books before.

Hi Julie,

There was an issue with the Government Gateway today and over the weekend which was preventing us from being able to submitting returns. Would it be possible to retry this tomorrow - they are reporting this as being resolved but have a massive back log which could be causing your issue now.
