CIS Verification Issues

I specifically switched from Freeagent to Clearbooks due to the way CIS is managed, however a few issues already I've noted and also reported by phone but not had a full resolution;

  1. Verifying via Clearbooks doesn't add the subcontractor to the subcontractor list in my HMRC portal, should it?

  2. All subcontractors I have tried to verify so far come back as unmatched 30% rate despite checking via HMRC portal and which they show correctly at 20%

  3. Under 'Tax - CIS - Verification' the subcontractors are showing as 30%, however when I run a CIS report 'Tax - CIS - Returns' they show at the correct rate of 20%

Please advise?

Hi Gareth,

  1. I do not know if this would add it to the HMRC portal. I believe this is one for HMRC.

  2. I believe this is a temporary rate if the verification fails. I would advise checking the verification again.

  3. I am not sure for the reason behind this. If this is still occuring please let us know.
