Hours and minutes in time sheet totals

Problem reported by Mark Allanson 11 years ago

I work to a standard 7.50 hour day. If I work in excess of that in a day then I record a negative time entry to get it back to 7.50 hours. So for example today I worked 9 hours, so I recorded an entry to an "overtime" code for -1.5 hours. When I review the posting afterwards, instead of saying -1.50 hours, it says -2 hours and 30 minutes, which is quite confusing. Is there anyway it could display entries in hours rather than hours and minutes?

Also tonight I looked a the total hours I'd worked in the last two days, and instead of saying 15 hours it said 12 hours 180 minutes. Please change it back as I use the totals to control my time and make sure my hours are complete.

Hi Mark,

The development team will review this post and keep you updated if any changes are planned.

Hi,

Sorry about the issues with minutes not properly rolling over to hours - that should be resolved now. Re: decimal times as opposed to hours & minutes I'll add it to the development roadmap for possible implementation some time in the future. If it is requested by anyone else I'll look at implementing it sooner. Either way I'll let you know if/when an update is made.

Tom.

Thanks for your responses.

I see that there has been a change so that hours and minutes are entered in the same field. I don't really like this change, but it's not a major problem.

However I can no longer enter negative time (which I need for the reasons outlined above). Please can this be changed, as recording negative time was one of the main reasons I used your time tracking system and hence your software generally.

Thanks

Mark

...and it's also changed every previous negative entry to 6 minutes!!

Hi Mark,

Sorry about this - the new fields are clearly having trouble with negative times. I'll try to get this fixed by the end of this afternoon and will let you know when the update has been made.

Thanks

Tom

Hi,

Just to keep you updated - I have an update to time tracking to once again support negative times but unfortunately it won't be available until Monday morning - I'll post back here when it is live.

Thanks

Tom

Hi,

Hopefully my last reply! Negative hours and minutes should once again work in time tracking, let me know if you continue to have any problems - sorry about the delay in letting you know, the fix did go live on Monday.

Thanks

Tom
