when creating invoices, we have to manually input them.
Ideally we would like clearbooks to automatically create the invoice number, therefore whichever user it is using the clearbooks, once they create a new invoice it will automatically give a new invoice number to keep it organised and avoid human error.
is this possible?

Please go to Settings > Invoice Themes > Preferences.
You will be able to set the first invoice number. This will set it so that the invoices from now on will be done automatically from now on.
Please can you find your next invoice number and then enter it there. From then on it will go to the subsequent number.

Not very easily as the system would try and increment those numbers based on the figure rather than the date - if you wanted to include the year and month in the invoice number I would probably advise setting this in the Settings>Invoice themes>Preferences as the invoice prefix (replacing INV):
The problem with this is that it would need to be changed each month manually - also only sales invoices would use this prefix, quote prefixes cannot be changed.
