We are hoping to set up a stock control system that enables us to do a Bill of Materials on several items. Is there a capacity for this in clear books. Also when starting to compile a stock list is there a csv template to allow mass import of Stock codes and quantities?
Hi again - sorry forgot to say, there have been lots of requests over the years for improvements and enhancements to the stock system. The problem is that you can end up building a system to cater for all stock features that's more complex than all the other bookkeeping put together.
CB does however have this area as one to review in the next few months and so I will add your BOM suggestion to it as I think it would be a valuable feature.

Yes the stock feature will allow you to attach several items of stock to one bill using different line items.
There is also an import area of Clearbooks that will allow you to import your items of stock from a CSV format. This is located in Tools > Import and you will need to select either Sales items or Purchase items.

Thanks for your prompt response.
Im aware we can allocated several items to one bill. What I was meaning is are we able to set up a stock code with several material against it to act as one complete code. ..ie... a door handle would require...the handle-screws-plate-key.. We would like to be able to show this as one code but will reduce all the relevant stock codes necessary when there is a purchase
