How do I change the home currency from GBP to EUR?

Question asked by Markus 10 years ago

My home currency seems to be by default in GBP.

How do I change it to EUR?

Hello Markus,

You will be able to set your default currency once you have made a customer and then try to make your first invoice.

This will bring up a screen which will request your default currency.

Good morning Vanish,

nothing appeared in the top right corner, but I added a "new business" called test and in doing so clearbooks asked me for the currency, which I set to eur and the reporting is ok now.

I have a new issue now in regards to VAT. But I will open a separate ticket for this.

We can close this one.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello Markus,

I think there is an issue then because normally it will ask for a default currency.

I have made changes. The old incorrect account has GBP at the end of it.

The other account which is in EUROs will appear on the top right hand dropdown.

Please click on that and then you will have the account based on the Euro currency for everything.

Let me know once you have done that so I can close the GBP account.

Sorry Vanish,

it looks like we have a misunderstanding here.

I created a customer and a test invoice and changed the currency on the invoice. But that is obviously only the currency for that invoice and maybe future invoices. But the accounts and balance sheet and profit & loss are still in GBP.

We are a EUR based company and need all our reporting etc in EUR.

Is that possible>

Hello Markus,

Yes, that is the step when you will need to make the default currency choice.

When you make your first invoice, it will ask for this.

Please can I do it for you at all?

Vanish

Hi Vanish,

thanks you for the fast reply. I phrased my question wrongly.

I meant the home and reporting currency of my company. We are a euro based company.

Regards

Markus
