Can i delete sales items?

Hi,

I entered a number of items that my client sells, to speed up the posting of sales invoices etc. Now, I don't need a number of them and they are slowing the process up because they are in the way. Is there anyway I can remove these or hide these so i don't have to endlessly scroll through the items to find the one i want?
