BANK IMPORT - INCORRECT DATES

Question asked by Julia Banks 10 years ago

I've imported a CSV file in which all the dates appear correctly, but every transaction has been imported as 01 Dec 02. Please advise:

(a) How to select all the transactions imported and delete them in one go

(b) How to reimport the file with the correct dates.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Depending on the date format you are using you may have to check "Use american date format" at the import.

It should work with DD/MM/YYYY and several others (like YYYY-MM-DD) out of the box.

If it still doesn't work and you are sure the format is correct you can send a few lines to support and we can take a look at the file to see what's the problem.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I read that it might help to use the date format MM/DD/YYYY so I've changed it to that and will check the reporting periods as you suggest before trying again.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Julia

So long as you haven't started to explain any of the transaction you can just click on Money, scroll to the bottom where you'll find the import and click the red cross over on the right.

As for importing with the correct date, it's tricky without seeing what's what. Are the dates formatted properly within the csv? Do they have the year field? Are you trying to import transactions outside of a period you've got setup in Clear Books? (head to Settings > Periods > Reporting Periods to check the latter)

It's likely to be trial and error i'm afraid. It's a good tool though so you shouldn't have too many problems.
