Expenditure report

Question asked by Shirley Wyatt 9 years ago

I'd like an expenditure report, detailing all expenditure over certein periods. I cant seem to find one whereby I can use pdf or csv. I need the transactions with dates. Grateful for ideas. Thanks.

Ok so why not just use the expenditure section of the P&L?

You can export the P&L to excel, remove the income codes then you'll be left with expenditure by nominal code on a month by month basis.

Again, thank you so much, I thought there would be a report to do the job, without manipulation, but hey ho, thanks again.

I can't imagine another way of achieving it in all honesty.

We got there in the end... ;-)

Hi, Exactly what I DID do in the end Kevin!! Thank you so much, the fact that you'd do the same is encouraging! Shirley

Just the total of each code (labour, marketing, rent.............) with the related date, to compare months/quarters etc. New Company, so looking at trends.

Eeek, frustrating

I presume they want to see how the total within the nominal is actually made up instead of just the total itself?

Yes just noticed no dates.

Shame.

I'm not saying it's what you're after but it's worth a look.

Ah, I think I know where you mean, there are no dates here Kevin, so Management cant compare. Unless I produce a separate report for each month, which They don't want. Aaaaargh

So.......go to reports,expediture then?

But in the 'expenditure by account code' you don't actually have to select a nominal code from the dropdown. If you leave it blank you will get a report showing everything bill wise for that period. If you get it over into Excel you could then quickly filter anything out that wasn't related to an expense category of required.

Hi what I meant is, I don't want to have to enter in each individual account (ie labour, marketing) in order to get a report. I need a list of ALL expenditure, in one report (detailing all expenditure) account codes with dates, in order to compare months/quarters general trends.

I'm guessing you mean you don't want individual bills as opposed to individual account codes?

Not really Kevin, as I want a list of all expenditure per month/quarter in order to compare. (So, like the report for P&L, but only for expenditure) I don't want individual account codes, as I'd be there all day

Ta, Shirley

Is the 'Expenditure by account code' report any good?

You can't export but you could copy/paste into Excel then PDF from there if needed.
