opening balance

Question asked by Ryan Thomas 9 years ago

its REALLY annoying that the new menu systems doesn't match any of the help guides.

So I have NEVER entered any opening balance for a bank account (its a new account)

I reconciled the bank account today and its out by a couple hundred quid. Checked every transaction and they match,

I find there has magically appeared an opening balance on the bank account which screws up the actual total.

How do I get rid of this and why did clearbooks make it up in the first place ?

thanks

Or look at it this way...the support is so good you only had to mention a slight issue on here and it corrected itself by magic!

Honestly, CB is a fantastic product so well worth sticking around for. If you've ever got an issue and can't get through to support just pop in here and one of us will normally answer within an hour or two.

well this is strange, I log in this morning to try as you suggest and its gone ???

I wish I'd taken a screenshot now.

  1. I never entered an opening balance as I don't know how.
  2. There was one yesterday.
  3. Now its gone.

Getting worried about using this software now. Can it be trusted ?

Support never respond to tickets either.

I think my ride with clearbooks is coming to an end just too risky.

HI Ryan

It should only be there if it was entered by somebody.

Can you find the opening balance transaction on the statement and click into it? If so, do you then have the option to delete it?
