Hourly rates per customer?

Question asked by Peter Kempe 8 years ago

I have an issue where I have both commercial and domestic clients. Is there a way to set default hourly rates per customer? I have on a number of occasions sent out an invoice with the wrong rates and have therefore undercharged.

Many thanks in advance

Hi Peter,

I think I understand and have a workaround as it's not possible from the customer details, however, potentially you could use the stock feature (Tools>Stock) to create some default rates. You could give the item a customer related name although you would need to make sure to hide the item name as shown below:

When creating the invoice you can select the appropriate item from the list:

Thanks John,

Will have a look when I get the chance and revert.

Hi John,

Thanks for prompt reply.

I have a base rate that is automatically added (through settings) I.e labour, matarials, mileage. However there doesn't seem to be an option to set up rates per client. By this I mean by example domestic charges out at £15/hr and commercial at £20/hr.

When invoicing a client, I'd like to have the rate imported automatically to avoid errors or omissions. I hope this makes sense?

Hi Peter,

Are you setting the hourly rate in the quantity when creating an invoice at the moment?
