Why does go cardless create a negative invoice and not a bill?

Confused by Go cardless payments and deductions. Why does go cardless create a negative invoice rather than a bill. It seem very strange the way this is automatically generated. Please can you help me either change this or explain why it is this way. I am told by go cardless it is not the same with their other partners.

Hi Andrew,

The way Clear Books works is that a payment received can only be allocated on the sales side. So any deduction on the sales side is represented as an SRF.

It's a limitation we would like to make more flexible in the future.
