GDPR and 2 factor authentication

Question asked by Sandy Hamilton 7 years ago

With GDPR we need 2 factor authentication.

We have encryption software for all our personal and customer data on our system.

All systems we use allow encryption or 2 factor authentication.

My preference is the call that comes to our phone from HMRC with the 6 digit code.

At the moment we cannot use your payroll system, because the employee data is not secure enough.

Is 2 factor authentication due before May 25th?

Let me know.

Kind Regards

Sandy Hamilton

Hi Sandy,

We will not be adding 2-factor authentication as it is not a requirement for GDPR and Clear Books is already sufficiently compliant. You can read what we have done to prepare for GDPR here:

https://www.clearbooks.co.uk/blog/prepare-for-gdpr/

We provide the ability for customers to protect their data in Payroll by allowing them to choose whether or not to email payslips and to add employees as users with restricted permissions to their own payroll information.
