Cash book journal to clear Payroll control

Question asked by Rona Metters 6 years ago

Hi

I have found this https://www.clearbooks.co.uk/support/guides/payroll-2/new-navigation-entering-payroll-transactions-processed-outside-clear-books/

Which solved my problem for accounting for payroll that had been calculated outside of clearbooks.

But!

Now how do I create a journal to debit the PAYE owed to the HMRC and that has been paid out of our bank account.

In other book keeping software I would use a cashbook journal which would then show as a payment out of the bank account and would debit the payroll control account to take it back to zero but I can't work out how to do this with Clearbooks.

thanks

Good Morning Rona,

This can be achieved by using the Money Out function, ensuring that the transaction is coded to the PAYE control account. If you head to Money > Bank accounts, next to the relevant bank account under the "Manage money" heading you should find the Money out feature.
