OneSaas

Question asked by Richard Bingham 4 years ago

Hi Currently all my Ebay sales payments are handle by PayPal but as some of you will know this is going to change with Ebay managed payments. Now my current dilema is that as of August 24th of this year Ebay are taking over our payments, now so far I cannot see a way to connect Ebay to Clearbooks. Ebay are saying that we have to use a third party and OneSaas is their prefferd option now as it stands I cannot see a way of connecting ClearBooks to OneSaas. So is there anyone out there who has the same issue and will it mean changing accountancy software.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark,

I am glad to hear that it will be easier. I shall pass on your feedback and I wish you a lovely day. If you need anything further, please do let me know.

All the best,

Hi Richard,

I have heard this and we are aware of the issue. Unfortunately, we will not have a direct connection with either OneSaas or the new Ebay payment platform. I'm afraid the only way to import this at present would be via the use of either an export from Ebay or manually.

All the best,

Oh ok thats really not the answer I was looking for, when do you think that you will be able to link to onesaas as to enter manually is not really going to be an option and as I do not know how Ebay will be providing their payment information ie in CSV format this is major concern Especially when I have just taken out a 2 year subscription with Clear Books. It seems to me we may have to cancel the 2 yr subscription and go with either Quick books or Sage or any of the other software that is supported.

What does also concern me if you are aware of this which has been on the cards for sometime why have you not done anything about it and why is their nothing about this mentioned on the website before purchasing subscriptions, we cannot be the only sellers that use you for Ebay ?

Regards Mark

Hi Mark,

I do understand your concerns. I am afraid the issue is that we previous developed an intergration with Paypal. This was done based on the widespread adoption of Paypal on numerous websites and involved some substantial work to do. The fact that Ebay was also using Paypal was merely coincidence to our decision to support Paypal.

We have been aware of the issue with Ebay and we may potential develop some form of integration in the future. Please note this is in no way a guarantee that we will do so, nor is this us saying we will not. It is something that we are aware of and simply looking at. If we did integrate with Ebay it would be directly with Ebay and not via OneSaas. There are a lot of considerations involved in integrating with Ebay, not least development and commercial aggreements.

Regarding whether we would be able to integrate with OneSaas, we would not be able to support that I am afraid. We have no current or future plans to integrate with OneSaas.

All the best,

Hi

Thank you, to be honest doing more research and my accountant has also been looking into this, it should not pose to much of a problem, yes a little more work but with payment made as a whole not individual like Paypal should make reconciling quicker as all payments wiil be made directly to our business account once a week. So instead of having say 300 transactions there will now only be one. As for Ebay this may well be worth looking into as Paypal now are going to lose a hugh amount of custom as all payments from buyers on Ebay will go threw Ebay all Sellers will be intergrated into the Managed payments program I beleive by the end of this year if i have my dates right which means no transactions from Paypal only what we may use our selves.

Thanks for all your help

Regards Mark
